This is the second focus lx TDCI I have had the first one kept stopping for no reasons what so ever on all roads including motorways. When in the end it stopped for no reason on a dual carriageway in Kent, the engine management light come on like it always does and I then noticed that there was a juggernaut lorry coming behind me so I tried to jump start the car as it was still rolling, but I blew the whole engine up instead Total cost to replace was £5600. I told Fords’ very poor customer service that I was not going to pay for it; (the car had only done 17500 miles and had been in their garage 14 times for the same stopping problem After a lot of arguing, I was offered a second hand Focus at the same year and spec as mine and was exactly the same except for the colour mine was black this one is silver I have had this one for a month now and it does not stop on the roads but the thing keeps stalling just like the other one I hate the car’s the interior and is very poor if you put something on the passenger seat and turn even the slightest corner it flies off down the side of the chair The air con does not get very cold and the dealer told me air con should only be used when your are going along and not standing still, what a load off rubbish I find I have to use my key to open the bonnet a major irritation and the same applies to the fuel cap I could go on forever about this dismal and boring car. I fail to see why every one loves the Ford Focus. I for one hate it so much I am going to sell mine to my mother in law at a cheap and knock down price What I find very strange is that I also have driven a Ford Mondeo TDCI and it drives superb so why should there be a difference Does any one else have any sort of other problems with the TDCI engine on the Ford Focus Before I had this car or cars I had a Vauxhall Astra CD 2.0 TD on a T plate and I had done 91000 miles with this car and not one problem. |
