Have only had this 8 months and it has (so far) been entirely faultless. No reliability issues and no dodgy noises or rattles For its price (£9300 brand new, including £1300 extras - it is an import) I doubt I could have got a better "all-rounder" Handling is superb; the 1.6 engine is smooth and willing and easily does 40MPG+ on a run Being super-critical, a bit more power on motorway inclines wouldnt hurt. Also, the paintwork has a very slight orange peel effect (though I have looked at others and they all seem to be like this) My previous car was a MK3 Golf GTi, and I considered a new VW. Ive driven the MK4 Golf and the new Polo, both of which were very nice cars, but the new Golf (1600 - havent tried the GTi) doesnt handle and the Polo is a bit pricy for its size The VW badge nearly got the better of me, but - having read some of the VW reviews on this site - Im glad I swallowed my prejudice! |
