Purchased 2nd hand 1 year ago no problems till now With full tank petrol gauge drops to zero and fuel light comes on and car nearly stalls Interesting to read comments from Ford in the USA, which I attach "Ford Focus hit by new quality glitch - Ford said Thursday that it was urging owners of about 671,000 Focus compact sedans to bring the cars into dealerships for replacement of a component linked to chronic engine stalling problems. The cars affected are from the 2000 and 2001 model years and sold in Canada and Mexico as well as the in the United States. The sputtering engines, which the company is blaming on the corrosive effect of dirt or sludge build-up in a fuel delivery module designed in Europe, was not something the NHTSA would officially record as a quality problem or recall. Customers affected by the engine problem would get an extended 10-year vehicle warranty on the fuel replacement part. No similar problems had been reported with 2002 and 2003 models of the Focus" I hope I havent picked up this fault, but if so, it will be interesting to see what Ford UK do about it, the same as the States I hope. |
