Comfort and seating Plenty of space in the car and boot for a super mini which was the main selling point for me Economy and performance Good economy and performs fine for an 8v, steering is ok for a non powered steering car Build quality and reliability Bodywork has stood up well to five winters, but build quality is still typically Fiat: cheap and nasty. Exhaust rear section fell off due to corrosion at around 30k. No major problems until 60k, with heater matrix leakage, cost £300+ to repair at a Fiat dealer. Cylinder head gasket failed a few months after, it appears a common problem with these Fire engines. Also recalled to have rear brake pipes replaced due to corrosion that was done for free Summary A cheap car which has a useful life span of around 5 years. Typically still a Fiat underneath, poor build quality and rip off dealer servicing prices If buying these sort of cars second-hand be aware of the engine problems mentioned in these comments This was my first Fiat and also my last. |
