I bought the car about a month ago (March 2004) and only has done 30,000 miles. Very impressed with drive and fuel economy and the car in general until, erratic idling kicked in. When I started it, it revs to about 3,000 rpm, then lowers to between 1500 and 2000 rpm and then revs on its own accord ....nice! The high revs is a constant problem but the revving on its own accord is intermittent but usually happens when Im sat at lights next to a boy racer in a GTi of some sort!!..........lovely!! I took it to local garage, who charged me 142 quid just to tell me it was the ECU after testing for idling valve problems first. Trying to source a cheap ECU at the moment, once sourced and fitted getting rid of the damn thing Nice car when it goes well but if you have any problems it can be expensive, from my experience Any thoughts on this problem email me. |
