This car was an economic insurance right off and had been restored to its original state before I bought it. I knew all about its history and had it independently checked before I parted with any of my money. I got the car for about £3500 less than book price and therefore got a lot of car for my money There have been problems with it (none related to its past history) but on the whole its been a good car, which has served me well. Apart from the usual battery, exhaust and tyres, stuff its needed two rear trailing arms (a common problem) and various sensors to control the engine management The 1600 cc engine is always willing and very torquey, but overall around normal driving Im lucky to get more than 32 mpg. On a long run and at a steady sensible speed that goes up to nearly 50 mpg Its presently just short of 80,000 miles on the clock and it feels as though it will keep on running fine for quite a while yet. Its got all the electric kit and still looks the business with its sporty side skirts and alloys I keep wondering about getting another car but to get one to replace it Id have to spend many thousands. I keep thinking why bother PS - My girlfriend has also just bought a Mk2 Punto Sporting. Lovely car which looks superb.
