This is my second Fiat Punto, I had a 97 model first for just over three years, and I like it so much I purchased a new one in 2001 Ive had this Punto just over two years, and the only trouble Ive ever had was a rubbing sound as the breaks were applied (sounded like a bus stopping) The dealer didnt seem to be able to do much, but they had a look and gave the breaks a dusting nonetheless. The sound did eventually disappear by itself in the second year (or 8,000 miles, or just after the first service) Recently, the windscreen wipers seem to be struggling to wipe across the screen on the intermittent setting but they work fine on all the other settings Finally, although my car an HLX version, its not as comfortable as you would expect from a £12,000 car. The interior is fine, the seats and the trim are both wonderful, but the engine and road noise, as well as the spongy suspension doesnt merit this car having a HLX badge or a £12,000 OTR dealer price Aside from these points the car looks beautiful, and I would still seriously consider buying another Punto from the new range introduced recently but only if I knew the ride and noise conditions had improved. |
