Bought a Punto because it looked nice and you got a lot of equipment for your money. However during the 1st year that we owned it we had so many problems with it that I can see why they are cheap To list some of the problems Syncromesh for 2-3rd gear went. Was told the gearbox would be replace but instead they only changed the syncromesh Awful crunching when putting into reverse gear. Not fixed Passenger door seal distorted from manufacture. Not fixed Faulty light switch unit. The headlights would flicker. This was replaced Stereo chewed up taped. Was replaced The list goes on but I just despair at what we had to go through. This was supposed to our first new car and we expected reliability to go with that, but it just didnt happen. The headlights were rubbish, like shining a torch through a letterbox Finally had enough of all the problems and told Fiat they could have their stupid car back. We came to an agreement and they let us swap (for a small payment) to a second hand Fiat Bravo. Well, dont get me started on what a disaster that turned out to be. In the end we took a loan out to pay off the finance and bought a Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec. Its lovely with the only problem being some brainless thug keying a door. Nice!
