I bought a new Punto in April 2001, since then I have lived to regret it Shortly after buying this car I noticed that there were scuffmarks on dashboard and scrapes on and around the release button of the hand break, it seemed that as the lustre was wearing off after per-sale clean up! The car had only around 100 miles on the clock at this time, I thought this was rather unusual for a new ca The next thing I noticed was that when it rained the front headlights misted up in the inside. The dealer told me that this is nothing to worry about, as they would dry out when the sun would come out, this fault was never remedied Within the first 2 months, the car had been in the garage and had the hand break lever replaced and the rubber seal around the rear off side window hadnt been fitted correctly from manufacture It was replaced by the dealer but was a mess of a job, grey glue left sticking all over the new rubber seal, just an eye sore. I have had this car for two years and 3 months now it has been my worst nightmare I had to go to another dealer to get warranty work done as my first dealer just fobbed me off. I have had new break discs fitted after only 15000 miles and I had to pay for the break shoes as I was told these were not covered by warranty I have had 3 throttle bodies fitted to date, 29/08/03; these are units which control the fuel injection system so I am told. My car would rev-up out of control for no apparent reason and the only way I could stop this was to turn off the engine and then start it again, I am sure that a lot of wear has occurred to the engine because of this. This has happened so many times now I have lost count I am a disabled man and I bought this little car to get me from a-b just like anyone else, my car has been in the garage for almost 6 weeks to date and I will have to sell it and take a loss on it as it has been making my health much worse. I suffer with a muscular disorder and arthritis and spinal problems and my walking is limited. I feel very sad that I will have to sell this car as I bought it to give me worry free driving and to help me enjoy a better quality of life Ah well, I will buy a second hand car now, I am sure it will be more reliable, as for fate and their so called customer service, they can keep their reference numbers that they give out to poor unfortunate customers I wont buy another Fiat or recommend anyone to buy one; I have never been treated so badly and unfairly be Fiat and their so-called representatives. Anyone, who has a Punto, I can only wish you luck and I hope and pray yours keeps going OK Sprito de punto... I am sure there is no spirit in this Punto, think again Fiat!... |
