<div class="Body">Leased through my employer in July 2001; 28000 fairly hard miles later, nothing major has happened (touch wood...!) apart from a new wiper motor, replaced under warranty at 11000 GOOD POINTS: stonking motor with incredible mid-range acceleration while still averaging 52+mpg; neat handling with tyres inflated to load settings, otherwise a bit soggy; fairly light so easy on tyres - new fronts at 18000, rears still have 5mm tread and at this rate will be on the car when it goes back to the leasing company; wide car so good cabin space (Im not a small bloke...); comfy seats (see above); big load space with seat(s) down; brilliant lights, especially on main bea NOT-SO-GOOD POINTS: trim materials not particularly hardwearing; plastics not up to VW standards; factory-fit radio not a challenge to the excellent speakers, but after-market CD player sorted that one.. Its taken me and the family around France and Ireland without complaint from either car or occupants. If Id been buying rather than leasing, I would still have seriously considered the turbodiesel Punto, though the depreciation is a bit of a worry.</div> |
