Bought van Jan 2003. Two months later, upon starting engine, the turbo went berserk belching white smoke and revving the engine near to destruction. Managed to use combination of drive and hand brake to stop it. New turbo fitted four months later (3000 miles) engine again goes berserk while travelling at 60 suddenly starts accelerating without reason Managed to get it onto the verge just as the engine exploded Be warned. This, I have been told, is a known problem and an exchange engine is quoted at £5200 + vat. Any others experienced this problem? |
