I have experienced an engine seizure on my zafira and the car was towed a dealer in Kent. Vauxhall refuse to repair or replace the engine and said that it will cost me £4245.28 to fix. <font color="#990000">(How much!!!!!! PoL.)</font They have refused warranty repair because the oil cap was missing and they say oil has leaked through this and caused the 4th piston to overheat and seize the engine. I have not touched the oil cap for over two months and I check the oil weekly. Oil, it was 1/2 full I had been driving along A299 and there was a loud bang and lots of blue smoke and subsequently loss of power. I called the AA who looked under the bonnet Oil was everywhere and the oil cap was missing. Customer help from Vauxhall have been totally unhelpful and the communication with me have been non existent. I have rung them almost every day and have had to repeat myself every time I am going to get an independent assessor in to look into this, is there anybody who can recommend a recognised assessor near Canterbury I really am disappointed with Vauxhall and their unhelpful attitude. Can they really get way with this?
PoL Comment: They will get away with it if you let them. Show the garage the other Zafira oil problems on our site. A specialist will come to you, you pay him, you get your money back when the garage repair or you sue in the small claims court, if you win that is. Be careful not to throw good money after bad though. PoL.
