Zafira is almost 2 years old now. Im a bit surprised to read other owners comments about oil consumption as Ive done almost 30k miles with negligible oil consumption. Im generally very happy with the car. However, I do have two complaints From new, the car had a problem with an intermittent creaking noise from the rear - this turned out to be a known defect and was fixed with a factory modification (to the handbrake cable I think). Why was the car delivered to me with a known defect Second complaint - the LCD dashboard display (date/time/radio) has suddenly gone dim on the right hand side, the local dealer tells me this is probably a blown bulb. The car is still within its 3 year warranty, however, there are the usual exclusions - and guess what, bulbs are excluded - including the one buried deep within the dashboard! I can understand that normal bulbs are treated as consumables and are therefore not covered by the warranty. However, replacement of this particular bulb is not a DIY job and I think it unfair that it should not be covered by the warranty The local dealer says that this is quite a time consuming job, but they offer a standard fixed price of £39 to fix this problem. This suggests to me that this is maybe, a common problem and the £39 charge is some sort of compromise? - anyone share this view? |
