Bought the car new from in 2001 and apart from needing a 40 foot truck and trailer full of oil behind me every time I go on a long journey its been great Its just done 31k without any major problems. Its now started to misfire and then stopped and would not restart. I was told it could be the fuel pipes and its that its common on Opel Zafiras to get airlocks as they use a material type of hose rather than a rubber one used on Vauxhall Zafiras Also it could be the fuel injection pump which is another common fault on Zafira diesels so I called Vauxhall and asked how much and injection pump was and I was told that the pump was ?£1676.00 inc vat as an exchange part then it would be 6-8 hours for fitting at ?£64.50 per hour plus vat My friend has looked at it and has got it going, we think the problem was a clip on the back of the fuel filter that had come slightly undone and will cost 20p to replace. I did find a fuel injection specialist they would have replaced and fitted the fuel injection system for ?£1200 so I advise anybody to phone around before you go to Vauxhall unless its under warranty. |
