Our 1.8 petrol Zafira has now done 75K miles and seems to be OK and can be recommended as a family car. School run mpg is 24; motorway is 32 - Aircon on winter and summer Door handles creak in cold weather - noted by Vauxhall, but if car is older than 3 years, they will not cure. Same for early wiper sweep - my car has 3-inch vertical strip unswept by wiper at drivers side. A modified mechanism is available Regarding check oil level after motorway driving - I get this and ignore it as the level is always OK. Vauxhall field remedies mention that an ECU software upgrade can cure this via recalibrating the max/min info from the sensor An ECU software upgrade (25-50 quid) can also cure the stalling problem. In my case, the car would almost stall when the Aircon was OFF. When it was on, the ECU would not let the revs fall so far. I got an ECU software upgrade to the latest version and it completely changed the way the revs fell and there is no problem anymore The ECU software upgrade failed to cure the oil level problem, so I guess the sensor is at fault. Upgrade seemed to moderate traction control effects as well.

PoL Comment: Thanks for the info, PoL.
