FREE REPAI I had the rear disc brake whining problem and the dealer said I needed new callipers, discs and pads at a cost of £580.00. I told them I had seen lots of complaints of this problem on the Internet and I thought it was a manufacturing defect, which I should not pay for As the car is out of warranty (4 years old - 47,000 miles) I told the dealer I offered to pay the dealers labour charges but, I expected Vauxhall UK to supply the replacement parts free of charge. The dealer gave me the number for Vauxhalls customer care (01582-427200) so I could take my complaint further and when I rang them, I gave them the dealers phone number so they could talk it through Vauxhall dealer came back in three days and said Vauxhall customer care had agreed to pay for all of the work but only if the car has a full Vauxhall dealer service history The dealer said I would have no chance of getting the work done under warranty because of the cars age but as I was nice to them, I know they put a good word in for me which is how I got it all replaced absolutely free.
