I have had this car for 2 years, it is my second Punto , touch wood it has never let me down , I have read the other owners reports and they are very scary reading !! The mileage now is 43,000 and the only major part that needed replacing was the exhaust back box , which I had replaced for ?£45 as the exhaust centre was able to split the one piece pipe to save fitting the whole job ! The downsides are a knocking from the rear of the car which has been there all the time , ( its not the rear handbrake cable being loose in the retaining grommet ), also the wipers used to judder until I regreased the wiper motor spindles with lightweight grease . The car averages about 40 to 50 mpg , goes o.k. and is adequate for a posh shopping trolley I have had much worse cars from Ford and V.W.
