I bought the car as ex private hire from a non Skoda dealer with high miles. It is nearly 5 years old and has done 110,000 miles. It has been subjected to minimal servicing, two small kids and the things that they do in the back of the cars, moved house, and has stood up reasonably well. I should say that I buy a car as a tool, not an investment.

<br>Specific problem -
<br>Bracket at the top of the clutch pedal broke, resulting in no clutch - fixed under warranty
<br>Car fogs up, needs new pollen filter, not a DIY job.
<br>Cam belt tensioner nearly sheared off, luckily the belt jumped a tooth, alerting me to problem, rather than breaking.
<br>Seats are in poor condition - drivers seat is easy to catch with rivet on back of jeans.
<br>Has the usual VAG TDI flatspot - probably needs a new MAF sensor.

<br>Good bits -
<br>Huge boot given size of car
<br>Very good specification - climate, CD player
<br>Good fuel economy (when its up together)
<br>Galvanised body, no rust, even on the sill that I have crumpled.
<br>
<br>Overall quite a good car, stood up reasonably well to our abuse, just a shame that you cant fix it or change parts easily yourself. Changing MAF sensor or pollen filter is a garage job.
