Had this car from new in Oct 2002 and had no problems to date. Two (very reasonably priced) services later and 22k on the clock and have found it simple, reliable, cavernous in terms of load carrying, flexible in terms of seating, and excellent value for money. Bought it after having a "quality/premium" car which gave me endless bills and wanted a bog standard motor which goes without hitch and costs little to run. I am very pleased as it has done just that.

<br>Being objective now:
<br>- economy is 40 mpg on my daily commute of 126 ml round trip (and this is an automatic remember)
<br>- engine is adequate but I wouldnt like to have a 1600 version
<br>- road noise is average
<br>- load capacity is huge with seats folded and slid forwards (I recently moved house with it and was superbly impressed)
<br>- road holding is average with a little body roll (I am not into track racing)
<br>- visability is fine except for front windscreen pillars
<br>- safety must be better than average as I opted for the curtain airbag system (but luckily havent used it yet so cannot comment from experience) - I should point out that this option was oddly the same cost as a spoiler
<br>- simplicity to own. all I do is occasionally fill up the washer bottle
<br>all in all Im delighted with my boring little motor and would recommend it highly
