I bought the 1.7 litre turbo diesel Civic because it was a Honda and Honda engines do not go wrong. After three breakdowns, two engine management systems and two turbo chargers (replaced under warranty) I threw in the towel. Only to later find that the early Honda diesel units were, in fact, from the Vauxhall Astra van, and not Honda unit at all. If I wanted a Vauxhall, I would have bought one!
