I have had the car from new. It gets quite a tough life, is used as a load carrier and has just passed 115k miles. Although its a pretty boring car to drive it has been totally reliable - the only "failures" have been 2 headlight bulbs! Apart from that just routine oil changes, 1 set of front discs and a cambelt at 90k, a couple set of front pads and 1 set of rear brakeshoes. Fuel consumption varies from 48 to 52. I really cant fault the car and it feels like it will go on forever however........ <br>Rust bubbles have appeared on the back door where the chrome trim (Ghia model) that sits above the rear numberplate meets the door. It looks like water has got under the paint from the trim fixings. Ford give a 6 year rust guarantee but I have been told by them that they will not fix it because of the cars mileage ! - didnt think that high-miles caused rust, must be something to do with wind blast. The dealer let slip that this was a known problem with many similar claims. Not sure I can be bothered to argue to get it fixed as I will sell the car soon but it has put me off Ford - a shame really cos its spoilt the experience.
