An update to a previous post after selling the car, which was partly as a reaction to the Governments threatened tax hike but mainly due to the following:

Faults over 18 months & 10,000 miles-

CD Autochanger
Early cambelt change due to water pump noise
Engine temp sensor
Air Mass Meter
Coil packs
Heater control unit (ouch!)
Haldex unit (double ouch!)
Corrosion - rectified under warranty

In the end enough was enough and it had to go. The car was a luxury treat purchase and wasnt cheap - and although not from a dealer it was immaculate had a full Audi service history. It turned to be ten times less reliable than the 135,000 mile Mk3 Golf GTI that it replaced.

Unfortunately the good features of the car have been so badly tarnished by my aching wallet, I dont really remember any - other than my wife liked the aesthetics.

So in all, pretty rubbish & a Lemon. |
